Welcome To Work Psychology Group
Work Psychology Group (WPG) is a research-led organisational or business psychology consultancy. We aim to bridge the gap between the working world and the latest research and practices.
Established in 2003 by Professor Fiona Patterson and Dr Máire Kerrin, our growing team of highly skilled business psychology practitioners is based in the UK and internationally.
We publish academic research, speak at international conferences and participate in a wide range of business networks, all of which gives us a competitive edge when it comes to translating the latest research and thinking into practical and sustainable solutions. These solutions help our clients to boost organisational performance and manage change.
Well versed in collaborating remotely before it became the norm, we bond over our passion for improving fairness in the workplace, but also books and cakes!
Call us 24/7. We can answer for all your questions.

Why WPG?
Clients often come to us after trying other avenues but not getting the results they need. We don’t promote off the shelf products because our clients often don’t have shelf shaped challenges. So that means that we start each project with fresh eyes and without preconceptions. Of course, we bring longstanding and wide-ranging business psychology experience to every piece of work. Given the breadth of skills within the WPG team, we can cherry pick the best people with the right specialisms every time. And everything we do is founded on a solid bedrock of research and validated by ongoing evaluation. At WPG we provide the innovative solutions to your organisation’s problems, whatever they may be.
Who do we work with?
We can – and do - apply our brand of practical, and evidence-based organisational psychology across all areas. WPG has worked successfully in the public, private and charitable sectors. We also operate extensively in high stakes environments. These include the healthcare sector, legal profession and financial services industry amongst many others.
How can we help?
Work Psychology Group specialises in helping organisations of all sizes to navigate change, with our primary areas of expertise being assessment, development and innovation for change. It all starts with our research and diagnostic skills. These are the foundation from which we help clients to manage large-scale recruitment drives, develop and embed organisational values and implement selection and development tools to help support interviews or career progression. All the while promoting fairness, inclusion and diversity, closing the skills gap and engaging the workforce.
