Career in brief

Dr Charlie Eyre is a Senior Associate at Work Psychology Group and an experienced Chartered Occupational Psychologist and Chartered Coaching Psychologist, with 25 years’ UK and international experience in the areas of assessment and selection, leadership development and coaching.

He has worked with senior leaders across public, private and healthcare sectors on a one-to-one coaching and group basis, with particular focus on resilience and work-life balance, workflow management / productivity, personal career planning and transition, and conflict management.

Professional accomplishments

As Principal Psychologist at the UK College of Policing, he held lead responsibility for projects including the national policing assessment centres, and leadership selection and development programmes.  He is a CMI Chartered Manager, a member of British Psychological Society Committee for Test Standards, and the ex-officio BPS representative for the International Test Commission.

Areas of expertise and interest

Dr Eyre is a Consultant Editor for the British Psychological Society Psychometric Test Review process, having previously served as Senior Editor for six years.  His doctoral research focussed on the impact of mobile technology on work-life balance, and the development of practical interventions to support wellbeing.

Charlie is qualified in eighteen psychometric tools (including HDS, MVPI & NEO), and has extensive experience of applying these in both selection and development contexts.  He has co-authored a range of professional guidance documents, including the BPS Standard for the Design and Delivery of Assessment Centres.
