Personal Experience & Biography

Charlie is a Senior Associate at Work Psychology Group with extensive experience of the design, delivery and evaluation of high stakes assessment processes including national assessment centres, psychometric tests, work-based assessments and sifting tools. He is experienced in leading and coaching multi-disciplinary teams as well as managing clients at senior and executive / board level. A Chartered Occupational Psychologist for 14 years, for the past seven years Charlie has been Principal Psychologist at the College of Policing, with lead responsibility for the police officer selection and initial promotion processes for England and Wales. Charlie has broad experience in the area of diversity in selection, advising a range of national boards and commissions on representation and selection. He has conducted diversity review projects for high profile clients (e.g. the Metropolitan Police Service), analysing the effects of selection and promotion processes on under-represented groups (particularly BAME candidates). He recently led the design of an adapted police officer selection practice to boost BAME representation in the Metropolitan Police Service, which received Ministerial approval for pilot in Autumn 2014. Charlie is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute. He is an Occupational Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a qualified Psychometric Test User in Occupational Ability and Personality Testing (formerly known as Level A and B).
