Helen Baron is a Senior Associate at Work Psychology Group. She is an expert in psychometric measurement and assessment, and has developed over 100 original tests including measures of personality, motivation, competency and various facets of ability. Helen has a particular interest in the use of technology and advanced psychometric theory to enhance measurement. She designed the first internet delivered random item selection test generator used broadly in selection in the UK. Helen worked in research and development at SHL for 13 years before becoming an independent consultant. She now works with companies in both the public and private sector in the design and audit of high stakes selection processes and the development of psychometric measures. She has been a visiting lecturer at City University and visiting professor at the Tallinn University of Technology in Estonia. She continues to engage in research and sits on a number of British Psychological Society (BPS) committees including convening the Working Group on Assessment Centre Standards, and is a consulting editor for the BPS Test Reviews. Helen is an Associate Fellow and Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and an Occupational Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC). She is a member of the executive committee for the European Association of Work and Organisational Psychology (EAWOP), and a qualified Psychometric Test User in Occupational Ability and Personality Testing (formerly known as Level A and B).
