Career in brief
Máire is a Founding Director of the Work Psychology Group, a research-led consultancy operating in the UK and internationally, with a strong reputation for expertise in assessment, development and innovation. Prior to setting up the Work Psychology Group, Máire was a Senior Consultant with the Institute for Employment Studies and previous to that held a number of senior academic posts at both City University, London and the University of Nottingham. Alongside her current role as WPG Director, Máire continues to inform her evidence-based practice with a variety of research collaborations. These include a visiting post at Bayes Business School, City University of London where she is a member of the Centre for Creativity in Professional Practice. She also leads the Psychology of Creativity and Innovation on the Masters in Innovation, Creativity and Leadership Centre for Creativity in Professional Practice | Bayes Business School (city.ac.uk)

As a Chartered Occupational Psychologist, Máire has over 20 years experience working in the areas of assessment, development, innovation and evaluation. She has a wide range of experience in managing and delivering large scale consultancy projects within the private and public sector. Máire has worked with clients in finance, publishing, retail, manufacturing and the energy sectors. She also has significant experience within the government and healthcare sector leading strategic and high-profile projects with the Ministry of Justice, Department of Health, NHS Employers, Health Education England, the Medical Royal Colleges and the UK National Recruitment Office for General Practice. Máire has a keen interest in supporting the development of her profession and has held several roles at the British Psychological Society, as Committee Member on the Division of Occupational Psychology and past Chair of the Annual Occupational Psychology Conference. She is a member of the Advisory Board of the Association of Business Psychologists Who’s Who – ABP (theabp.org.uk) and an Advisory Board Member of the Professional Doctorate in Occupational Psychology at Birkbeck, University of London.
